In late February, the Independent Planning Commission (IPC) held a public hearing over two days in Moss Vale to hear from the community, followed by a site visit. Written submissions were also able to be lodged to the IPC up until the 6 March 2019.
We would like to thank everyone that was able to attend the public hearing in support of the project and those who lodged a supportive submission for the Hume Coal and Berrima Rail Projects.
The next steps…
The IPC will take a couple of months to assess the submissions before providing a response in the form of a report. Once finalised, this report will be provided to Hume Coal for consideration, as well as the Department of Planning and Environment (DP&E), which will enable them to produce their final environmental assessment report. The IPC will ultimately make the final decision on the project.
