Hume Coal Charitable Foundation

The vision of the Foundation is to care for and make a significant difference to the community of Wingecarribee Shire, to provide opportunities to improve life outcomes.

Formed in 2015 the Foundation has four directors, three of whom represent the local community and are not otherwise associated with the company. This ensures that the decisions made by the Foundation are in the best interests of the community.

Each year the Foundation provides around $400,000 in funding, in two funding rounds, closing on 30th July and 1st November. The funding focus is on education, indigenous programs and not-for-profit pre-school child care.

In 2015, the Foundation provided funding to various charities and individuals including Mission Australia’s Triple Care Farm (TCF), which helps young people recover from mental health issues, suicide and trauma, and also Challenge Southern Highlands which helps people with disabilities find supported employment and training.
