Hume Coal Apprenticeship Program
Hume Coal is aware of the need to improve the skills base within Wingecarribee Shire and has established the Apprenticeship Program to provide training, support and development to enable local people to gain valuable skills and set them on the path to success.
Annual funding of $250,000 supports the placement of apprentices and trainees in local businesses to support economic growth. Under the program, Australian Apprenticeships (often referred to as apprenticeships or traineeships) are available to anyone of working age. There is no need to have a secondary school certificate or other qualifications. You can begin an Australian Apprenticeship if you are leaving or have left school, are re-entering the workforce as an adult or simply wish to change careers. Our local Apprenticeship Network provider, 1300apprentice, will assess your suitability for an apprenticeship with us.
Hume Coal has helped find local people apprenticeships and traineeships in child care, landscaping, electrical services, building and clerical services. With help from the Apprenticeship Program, Kristine Hollis began her “dream career” in early childhood education.
You can apply for an apprenticeship position at any time throughout the year. If you have an interest in one of the following industries or businesses, Hume Coal would love to hear from you:
- Child Care
- Electrical Trades
- Metal Trades
